Same Sex Marriage Not The Same As Marriage

The California Supreme Court has recently struck down the state’s ban on same-sex marriage in a broadly worded decision that would invalidate virtually any law that discriminates on the basis of sexual orientation.  As usual, the state in which I reside has totally disregarded the will of the majority of the people.  In 2000, 61% of California voters approved a ballot measure, Proposition 22, that said “only marriage between a man and a woman is valid and recognized in California.”  They say they are only ruling according to the state’s Constitution.  California has one of those?  This must be where they put stuff about celebrities not being found guilty, or if they are, then, they get a commuted or frivolous sentence. 

There are already many groups coming together to get on the November ballot a way to amend the California Constitution to ban same-sex marriages.  I’m sure our Governor will help us, who previously has vetoed two bills in favor of gay marriage.  Let’s see what our “Conservative” leader has to say.  Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger issued a statement saying he “respects” the decision and “will not support an amendment to the constitution that would overturn it.”  Alright, a man who sticks to his guns!  I apparently missed the scene in “Terminator” where he says, “I’ll be back;” turns walks out the building, and then calls up later saying, “Hey this is the Terminator.  I was just in there, and I said I would be back, but you know it started getting late and stuff.  Not to mention traffic is really bad, so I don’t think I’ll be coming back after all.  Bye, bye.” 

Look, marriage is the union of a man and woman as was first performed by God back in the Garden of Eden.  (I hear the buffet was awesome).  Civil unions, domestic partnerships; there are things in place for gay people to make their commitments.  I do not hate homosexuals because I’m a Christian.  Actually because I’m a Christian. I’m supposed to love homosexuals as Christ would.  But to profane marriage or anything God has placed for us and to sit idly by would not be correct.  Jesus met the woman at the well, and after she said she was not married,  Jesus told her she was correct because she was actually married to several men.  She actually was married, but Jesus said she was not because being married to several men was not what marriage was in the eyes of God.
