Be Informed Have we really come to the stage in America that whoever has the most money can determine our next President? That we look at the color and nationality, before we look at the issues that are behind them? And now, do we lose sight of our God-given gifts to discern right from wrong, and determine to vote for our agenda and needs, rather than the direct commands of our Lord and Savior? Help me to understand how someone who stands for Christianity can support the murder of our unborn, not to mention the destruction and disgrace of stating, a child who survives abortion has no rights? So now, we throw them in a trash bag and dispose of them. Have we become so deafened that we have no sensitivity to respond to their cries?
Senator Obama has promised to make abortion a priority of his presidency, including the passage of the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), a legislation that would annihilate every single state law, limiting or regulating abortion, including the federal ban on partial birth abortion. The Illinois Senator even went so far as to vote against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act, which would have protected children who survived failed abortion attempts from infanticide. Are we so far into darkness that we cannot see? Has it come to what matters most is money and greed?
Are we truly ready for the judgment of God? I pray this will open the blind eyes and deaf ears. The Word of God is a living word with truth we must follow. It is the basis for the foundation of this country, that which our forefathers committed to stand by and for in 1776. As President Abraham Lincoln stated in 1863, "We have been recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God.”
Note: In 1948, we decided we knew better than God and didn’t need these truths in our schools, and in 1963, we added insult to injury and removed prayer. According to our last count in April 2008, over 768 students have been assassinated on our school grounds through our sins of silence, not to mention almost 50 million murdered unborn children.
Shall we continue in our sin that grace may abound?1 When shall we wake from this sleep of complacency and compromise, when our children lose all their freedoms, and we are surrounded by the enemy? Do we really think we can go against our omnipotent God to refuse and ignore His clear and precise commands?
See for yourself the following scripture references.
Abortion: Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
Marriage: Proverbs 18:22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the LORD.
Corinthians 11:3 But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
Homosexuality: Romans 1:26-27 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
My prayer is that no one will compromise their faith or our God. As we go to the polls, please remember these truths. McCain has stated he and Sarah Palin will determine to stop abortion. Some would say that President Bush has not alleviated it. But, truth be known, there has been a significant drop in abortion since Roe vs. Wade. After this upcoming election, there could be as many as three new Supreme Court judges elected by our president. With McCain in office, we can decrease, and hopefully, end this holocaust in America.
John McCain is a hero; he fought in the Vietnam War and was tortured for his stand for America. And when he was given an option as a POW to be released, he opted to stay, and stand for his country and not back down on his beliefs. How much experience does Obama have? He played U.S. Senator for 143 days, just long enough to begin a race for president. Would you hire someone to work on your car with 143 days experience?
Senator McCain has shown a propensity of doing what’s right for America. He is a leader, not a follower. He is a living profile of courage. Ask the Republicans; he has stood his ground many times on issues they did not agree upon.
When Obama wanted to cut and run which would have likely left the people of Iraq to the "mercy" of the insurgents and terrorists that had been occupying the country, it would have likely resulted in genocide. Instead, McCain went against all of the polling and said that he would rather lose an election than lose a war, and supported the "surge," which added more troops. We are now winning the war and have started to turn the country back to the Iraqis.
In closing, I hope you will consider not only taking time to vote for McCain and Palin on November 4th, but also consider calling your local campaign office for president, and see what you can do to ensure our future. Let your children help you with your volunteer efforts to support our godly leaders. They may not be able to vote, but they can certainly help pass out signs and flyers. Remember, they are our next generation. What a testimony to your children to make a stand for your beliefs! Discuss the scriptural issues with them, and how you will not be silent any longer. Join hands with your family, leaders of the household, and pray this simple prayer directed by our Father: Then if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, if they will pray and seek me and stop their evil ways, I will hear them from heaven. I will forgive their sin, and I will heal their land.2
Cornerstone Connection endorses John McCain for our next president. Sincerely,
LuAnne Anderson 1) Rom. 6: 1; 2) 2 Chr. 7: 14
