Ignorance Is Bliss Recently, I had an urge to purchase a necklace with a peace sign. I guess it bought me back to the 70's and my hippie days, after all peace is a good thing.
I wore my beautiful diamond necklace to church, and while I was sitting in the pew (I promise, I was listening to the teaching, not thinking about my new fashion statement), all of a sudden, I felt a force on my chest, an impact like I had never felt before. It was heavy and dark. Then, this thought came into my mind, "This is a broken cross, and you need to research it before you wear it again." Well, that shook me a bit. I determined I would check it out when I got home, all the while thinking surely not. Honestly, my flesh was fighting me. I loved my new piece of jewelry for peace. I spoke to the pastor and a few others as I was leaving and suddenly, this lady, Diane, a friend from church who was standing in front of me, came up to me and said, “LuAnne, you are such an awesome leader, and I respect you. Can I say something, and it not offend you? I know you would never do anything knowingly that would mislead, but would you please research that peace sign you are wearing? It is a broken cross. (I kid you not, her words exactly).
Well, if I had rationalized to procrastinate this before, you can count on it; I would be doing my research now. Here is the info on the peace sign. Interesting timing when we have a President who states, "We are no longer a Christian nation" that suddenly the peace sign becomes a fashion statement. The Lord put Diane on my heart the next day to call her, as He said she felt as though she had offended me. I called her to thank her for being so bold. It says in the Word that if you rebuke a man, you will receive blessings.1 And a wise man will hear a rebuke.2 I told her I wish more of the body of Christ would stand for their beliefs. She told me she saw one of the associate pastor’s children wearing some peace earrings a few weeks ago. I asked her if she let them know of the meaning? She said, “No.” I said, “I believe these are some of the things we will be accountable for one day when we sit before the Lord.3 You need to call them now, and if it makes it easier, use my story. I am secure in who I am in Christ. God knows I don’t know everything. I make mistakes just like the rest, but I do know who I am in Christ. Please spread the word. Don't be shy. It says in God’s Word, ‘Let your yes be yes, and your no be no.’4 We have to get off that wall of complacency, now more than ever. We have to be willing to get uncomfortable, embrace discipline and stand for our faith.”5
I don't believe in happenstance. God has been showing me there are many formulas/experiences in life that bring awareness through circumstances such as this to help us grow in Him. I believe He allowed me to desire this pendant to experience and gain knowledge to share with others this intoxicating and misguided deception of the enemy. Remember: (Hos 4:6) My children parish for lack of knowledge.6 These are very serious times we live in. We must wake up and do our research to be wise as a serpent, gentle as a dove.7 I felt as though He spoke to me a few weeks ago and said, “Be careful; fools rush in.”
The following is an excerpt we found on the web site that we have attached to this document. I hope you will read it all.
One former witch makes the following comment about the peace symbol:
“It is an ancient and powerful symbol of Antichrist. During the Dark Ages, it was used in Druid witchcraft and by Satanists of all sorts during the initiation of a new member to their order. They would draw the magic circle and give the initiate a cross. The initiate would then lift the cross and turn it upside down. He would then renounce Christianity in all three dimensions (sic) of time (past, present and future) and break the horizontal pieces downward forming the design of the ‘Raven’s Foot.'’This ugly symbol is nothing short of blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. For one to wear or display this symbol is to announce either knowingly or unknowingly that you have rejected Christ. Remember, symbolism is a picture language, and a picture is worth a thousand words.” For more information Google “peace sign broken cross.”
Beware of what and whom you are representing.
